The 2025 Discmania Challenge delivered high drama, elite-level disc golf, and a podium packed with Team Discraft talent. With six MPO athletes and five FPO athletes finishing in the Top 20, the event showcased the depth and resilience of our roster.
From Ezra Aderhold’s emotional first DGPT victory, to Adam Hammes' stunning comeback & course record in Round 3 (-14), and Holyn Handley’s consistent push in FPO, Team Discraft made their presence felt across the weekend. Let’s dive into the highlights, starting with Ezra’s unforgettable win.
Ezra stood tall under pressure, securing his first-ever DGPT victory in dramatic fashion. After a strong opening round at -12, just one stroke off the hot score, Ezra remained steady and strategic, carding rounds of -8 and -9 to hold off the chase card and close out the win.
In the final round, Ezra came out firing, birdieing holes 1 through 5 and narrowly missing an ace on Hole 5 with a brutal chain-out (video below). Despite a mid-round lull, he surged late with clutch birdies on Holes 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17. However, the job wasn't finished. With one of the hardest playing holes this weekend, 18 was no joke. However, stepping up the the tee, Ezra was ice cold and ready to execute -- having the furthest drive on that hole throughout the entire weekend, giving him a perfect position to play the par and win his first DGPT victory in style.
With his brother Judah on the bag and emotion running high, Ezra called the moment “the most emotion I’ve felt in my life.”

In the final round, Ezra came out blazing, opening with birdies on Holes 1 through 5 and nearly acing Hole 5 with a brutal chain-out (video below). After a brief scoring drought through the middle stretch, he caught fire again with clutch birdies on 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17. Still, the tournament wasn’t over. Hole 18 was one of the most difficult on the weekend—demanding precision and composure. Ezra delivered both.
Stepping up to the tee, he unleashed one of the longest drive recorded on that hole all weekend, setting himself up perfectly to play for par and lock in his first DGPT victory in commanding fashion.

For years, Ezra Aderhold has been known as a hard-throwing, humble grinder—someone who took the long road (and a humble Prius) to tour stops across the country. That journey, filled with ups, downs, and relentless dedication, finally reached its first major milestone with his Discmania Challenge victory.
With this win, Ezra not only proves he belongs among the tour’s elite but also reminds fans what perseverance, self-belief, and support from family can accomplish. From parking lots and practice fields to the top of the DGPT podium—Ezra’s story is just getting started.
