Updated: 5 days ago

Originally launched to introduce the exciting world of Ultimate to schools, Discraft's Junior Program has expanded in recent years to include disc golf, offering a versatile way for students to experience the thrill of disc sports. Whether you're interested in bringing Ultimate or disc golf to your school, this page is your go-to resource for learning all about disc sports and Discraft's Junior Program.

WHY DISC SPORTS?

Sports like Disc Golf and Ultimate offer a unique blend of physical, mental, and social benefits that make them an excellent choice for kids of all ages. These sports help improve hand-eye coordination, balance, and overall fitness while encouraging kids to spend more time outdoors. The teamwork and communication required in games like Ultimate foster important social skills, such as cooperation, leadership, and respect for others.

Additionally, the self-officiated nature of these sports teaches kids responsibility, integrity, and fair play. Whether for recreation or competition, disc sports provide a fun and engaging way for kids to develop lifelong skills and healthy habits.

WHAT IS DISC GOLF?

(6x World Champion Paul McBeth lining up his shot at the 2024 PDGA World Championships)

Disc golf is a fun and accessible sport that combines the precision of golf with the dynamics of throwing a disc. Players aim to complete each hole by tossing a disc from a tee pad into a target, typically a metal basket, in the fewest throws possible.

With an emphasis on strategy, accuracy, and outdoor activity, disc golf is a great way for students to develop coordination, problem-solving skills, and a love for nature. It's easy to learn and play, making it an ideal addition to any school's physical education program.

WHAT IS ULTIMATE?

Ultimate is a fast-paced, team-oriented sport that blends the athleticism of soccer with the skills of throwing and catching a flying disc. Played on a rectangular field, teams score points by completing passes into the opponent's end zone. Ultimate emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness, offering students a fun and engaging way to stay active.

The self-officiated nature of the game teaches responsibility and fair play, making it a valuable addition to school programs focused on developing well-rounded, active students.
