Today, we’re proud to announce a new chapter in our commitment to growing the sport across Europe with the addition of Seppo Paju as Discraft’s European Team Captain.
This role is about much more than a title. It is a mission centered on building one of the strongest disc golf teams Europe has ever seen. With deep roots in the game and a long history of helping shape its growth, Seppo steps into this new position with a clear vision.
“Discraft is one of the most respected brands in the sport,” said Seppo. “Being trusted with the responsibility of helping build and lead the European team is something I take very seriously. It gives me an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the game and support the next generation of players.”
Rather than simply carrying the title, Seppo wants to build a real structure around scouting and supporting players. His vision includes identifying talent early, helping players develop over time, and creating a system that feels meaningful to both rising competitors and established stars.
Applications are now open. The scouting tour is underway and the next era of Team Discraft Europe starts now!

Seppo Paju Captain's Caliber
Born in Lieto, Finland, Seppo has built one of the most respected careers in European disc golf, earning titles that includes 2x Finnish Champion, Junior World Champion, and European Champion, just to name a few. Beyond competition, he’s spent years helping grow the sport through course design, content, events, and so much more. But up until now, there was still one thing he had never had the chance to do: create a disc of his own. Now, that changes.
Meet Seppo’s first creation, the Captain’s Caliber.
The Captain’s Caliber serves as a symbol of this next chapter for Discraft, and the standards Seppo hopes to build for Team Discraft Europe. The name itself has personal history. “Caliber” has lived in Seppo’s phone notes for years as a potential disc name, long before this opportunity became reality. For him, the word captures qualities he will be scouting for: skill, character, and quality.
For Seppo, the Caliber reflects long-term dedication. After more than 13 years of dreaming about creating his own disc, that vision has finally come to life. Now, he hopes it becomes something players can connect with on a deeper level.

“I hope the Caliber shows what long-term commitment to the sport can lead to,” Seppo said. “I also hope it becomes something that players connect with. Not just a disc, but a symbol of the new chapter for Team Discraft Europe and the work we’re doing to grow the sport and find the next generation of top players.”
